ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP:
Drawing from core principles of Voice Movement Therapy, Contact Improvisation, sacred chant, and moving meditation practices, we will explore using our voices as instruments of expression and connection. This is not exactly a singing class, though singing might happen (its one of the many amazing things a voice can do!) The primary focus of this class will be exploring voice as sound and as vehicle for free expression, without the structure and limitations of language, song, style, or convention.

You already know how to do this. From the moment of your first breath, long before words had meaning, you used your voice to express your experience and summon connection. As humans learn language, we inevitably limit our voices to a narrow range of their capacity, but most of us come into this life with a voice that is free, full, unstructured, and unhindered. This class is an invitation to return there. Through whole group and small group exercises, we will sound our experiences and create sonic scores.
